Issue Description: Users may be unable to use the copy and paste function in Microsoft Teams desktop client chats.

More info: Impacted users report that they are unable to copy and paste URLs, text, and images in Microsoft Teams desktop client chats, as the paste option appears greyed out when using the right-click dropdown menu method.

To bypass impact, we recommended that users attempt to copy and paste the intended URLs, text, and images using Ctrl + V in the desktop client or by using the right-click dropdown menu method in the Teams web client, if users have access to this connection method.

Current Update: 15/04/2026 8:45:00 AM Microsoft are reviewing recent service changes that may be causing or contributing to this issue in order to isolate a potential root cause and determine our next steps. In tandem, we’re reviewing support provided data and details from impacted users while conducting internal reproductions of impact to better inform this root cause investigation.

Scope of impact: Any user attempting to use the copy and paste function in Microsoft Teams desktop client chats may be impacted by this event. This section may be updated as our investigation progresses.
