Issue Description: Users’ responses from Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat are delayed up to seven seconds or longer.

Final Update: 13/04/2026 09:02:00 AM–Microsoft have disabled the change and confirmed through service health monitoring that the impact has been remediated by our actions.

Scope of impact: Your organization was affected by this event, and any user that prompted Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat was impacted.

Root cause: A recent service change relating to how authentication components are checked during request calls increased the computation and caused latency in the requests, which resulted in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing our service change testing and validation procedures to identify and prevent similar increased computation in deployments moving forward
