Issue Description: Some users may experience errors or pages failing to load when accessing Microsoft 365 Copilot.
More info: Users may have received the following error message when attempting to access Copilot via m365.cloud.microsoft:
“We are sorry, something went wrong. Please try refreshing the page in a few minutes. If the problem persists, please visit status.cloud.microsoft for updates regarding known issues.”
Some users may have also encountered HTTP ERROR 502 responses, black screens, or sessions that remained stuck on a loading screen. Some users on the Copilot desktop app may have also experienced similar issues.
As a workaround, impacted users could have continued to use Copilot in other applications, such as Microsoft Teams and the Outlook desktop client.
Current Update: 08/04/2026 08:51:00 AM–Microsoft has confirmed through our service health telemetry that reversing our most recent update remediated the impact.
Scope of impact: Your organization is impacted by this issue, and users are unable to release or preview quarantined ZAP email messages from the Microsoft Defender for Office 365 security center. This section may be updated as our investigation continues.
Root cause: A recent update to the service infrastructure that supports quarantined email messages contained a code issue, leading to impact.
Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing our service update testing and validation procedures to identify and prevent similar issues with load balancing in deployments moving forward
