Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: Microsoft Teams meeting participants may not be granted permissions to meeting notes added after meeting creation.

More info: More info: This issue impacts the following services and scenarios:
– Some users in the West US region may be unable to execute data plane operations in Power BI.
– Some users may be unable to utilize Activity and file policy evaluation, Anomaly detection, or Advanced hunting for Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps.
– Users may also see stale information in the portal and execution of governance actions for Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps.
– Some users may be unable to utilize Advanced hunting in Microsoft Defender for Identity.
– Admins may be unable to complete onboarding activities in the Microsoft Defender XDR portal
– Admins may be unable to see Microsoft Purview Communication Compliance policy hits in Microsoft Purview.
– Users may be unable to view recent data in Threat Explorer and Advanced Hunting within Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
– Users may see device enrollment failures in Microsoft Intune.

When users add meeting notes from the Microsoft Teams Calendar to a meeting that has already been created, the meeting participants may not be granted permissions to view the notes, while the user that added the notes may be able to access them as expected.

Final Update: 10/02/2026 08:18:00 AM Microsoft has completed their efforts to restore the remaining infrastructure and further confirmed that the remaining backlogs have been processed. Impact has been remediated for all users.

Scope of impact: This issue may affect users in the West US region who are attempting to utilise the features outlined in the More info section.

Root cause: A recent power surge within a portion of our Azure infrastructure in the West US region caused services to go temporarily offline.
