Issue Status: RESOLVED
Issue Description: Users may see sync issues between lakehouses and their SQL analytics endpoints in Microsoft Fabric.
More info: Impact is specific to users who have enabled OneLake security. To prevent impact to your existing SQL Analytics Endpoints, we have temporarily disabled the ability to use the OneLake security public preview feature for some of your workspaces. Any security roles already configured in OneLake security will remain as is, but advanced features like Row-Level Security (RLS) and Column-Level Security (CLS) will result in query failures instead of filtered data. Additionally, new items will not be able to enable OneLake security until the feature is re-enabled for your workspaces.
Final Update: 03/11/2025 08:35:00 AM – Microsoft have completed the development and applied the previously mentioned fix to resolve the sync issues leading to impact, and they’ve re-enabled the OneSecurity for the workspaces where it had been disabled. They’ve subsequently confirmed that this has restored the Row-Level Security (RLS) and Column-Level Security (CLS) features and the impact is remediated.
Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event, and any user may see sync issues between lakehouses and their SQL analytics endpoints in Microsoft Fabric.
Root cause: A recent update intended to improve OneLake security functionality in Microsoft Fabric is causing impact to lakehouses and their respective SQL analytics endpoints because the affected endpoints don”t have the expected security version, resulting in impact.
Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their Microsoft Fabric update procedures pertaining to SQL analytics endpoints to prevent similar impact in future updates.
