Issue Status: ONGOING

Issue Description: Users may be unable to upload background images larger than 1800×1800 during Microsoft Teams meetings.

More info: When attempting to upload a background image larger than 1800×1800, users receive an error message stating “invalid image size” and the upload fails. Users can avoid this issue by resizing the desired image to below the aforementioned dimensions.

Current Update: 03/04/2025 08:38:00 AM – Microsoft are continuing to address issues unrelated to this impact which are preventing the deployment of our fix. Once these issues have been addressed, they will provide a timeline for the deployment of their fix.

Scope of impact: This issue may affect any user attempting to upload a background image larger than 1800×1800 during any Microsoft Teams meeting.

Root cause: A recent change instituted a restriction on image size for background image uploads in Microsoft Teams.
