Issue Description: Users and admins are unable to use eDiscovery services and features.
More info: Users are unable to use eDiscovery services and features in Purview eDiscovery All eDiscovery functions are affected by this event.
More info: The error is misleading and doesn’t prevent users from replying to or forwarding email through Outlook on the web.
Final Update: 01/04/2025 07:52:00 AM – Microsoft have completed their extended monitoring of the service and validated through customer reports and service telemetry signals that the issue has been resolved.
Scope of impact: Any user or admin attempting to perform actions via eDiscovery are affected.
Root cause: A code change that intended to improve service performance has introduced an impacting code regression.
Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing the incident details to further understand the impact on the eDiscovery service. This will allow us to drive service resiliency efforts and improve their ability to mitigate or prevent similar impact scenarios.
