Issue Description: Admins or users may be unable to create and use DirectQuery connections in Power BI.

More info: Impact is specific to some admins and users creating or using DirectQuery connections to Gen1 dataflows in Power BI.

Final Update: 17/03/2025 11:41:00 AM – Microsoft have determined that a recent standard service update contained a code regression, which was resulting in impact. They have reverted the change and confirmed after monitoring that impact has been remediated.

Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event, and some admins or users located in the United Kingdom or North Central US attempting to create and use DirectQuery connections to Gen1 dataflows in Power BI may be impacted.

Root cause: A recent standard service update contained a code regression, which was resulting in impact.

Next update by: Microsoft are reviewing their standard service update procedures to avoid similar impact in the future.
