NHSmail Reference: INC45845915
Microsoft Reference: TM896583
Issue Status: ONGOING
Issue Description: Users may be unable to change public channels to private channels in Microsoft Teams desktop client and web app.
Current Update: 24/09/2024 08:45:00 AM – Microsoft have made changes to the Title, User impact, Scope of impact and Root cause fields to reflect that the impact is occurring in the ”Manage team” menu in teams; not in the channels themselves. Further, they’ve identified that a recent update which provided a fix for an unrelated issue introduced a regression which resulted in exceptions occurring when attempting to change the ”Privacy” drop-down in a team’s details settings menu choice in the Microsoft Teams desktop client and web app. They’ve developed a fix for the issue and are initiating deployment to their internal testing environments for validation of the fix. They anticipate having a timeline for the deployment to the affected environment with our next scheduled update.
Scope of impact : This issue may impact any user attempting to change the ”Privacy” drop-down menu choice in a team’s details settings in Microsoft Teams desktop client and web app.
Root cause: A recent update which provided a fix for an unrelated issue introduced a regression which resulted in exceptions occurring when attempting to change the ”Privacy” drop-down menu choice in a team’s details settings in Microsoft Teams desktop client and web app.
