Issue Description: Some users may be unable to sign into copilot.microsoft.com.

More info: Affected users may have observed that when they attempted to sign in, they were returned to the copilot.microsoft.com page, but were still not signed in. Users who had previously been signed in were able to access the service as expected.

Final Update: 19/08/2024 08:30:00 AM – Microsoft’s fix deployment has successfully completed, and they’ve confirmed with a subset of affected users that impact was resolved.

Scope of impact: Any user attempting to sign into copilot.microsoft.com may have been impacted.

Root cause: A recently deployed configuration change to the API for the Copilot chat service contained an issue that was causing errors when making calls to chat availability, which was resulting in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their configuration change testing and validation procedures to identify opportunities to improve impact detection and better prevent similar future occurrences.
