15/08/2024 09:35:00 AM
NHSmail Reference: INC45059644
Microsoft Reference: SP861751
Issue Status: RESOLVED
Issue Description: Some users may be unable to edit some SharePoint Online classic site pages.
More info: Specifically, users may see the edit button greyed out or not visible at all. As a workaround, admins may be able to manually run the following script “Set-SPOSite -DenyAddAndCustomizePages 0”, to re-enable custom script through PowerShell to mitigate impact.
Final Update: 04/11/2024 09:08:00 AM – The fix deployment was completed and Microsoft have confirmed with telemetry and previously affected users that impact was remediated.
Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users, who are served through the affected infrastructure, attempting to edit some SharePoint Online classic site pages.
Root cause: A recent feature update, that enforces the disabling of customs scripts, has introduced a regression leading to custom scripts being unexpectedly disabled and causing users to lose the ability to edit some classic site pages.
Next steps: To help prevent similar impact in the future, Microsoft are further reviewing how they can identify these types of regressions prior to feature deployment.
