NHSmail Reference: INC44871615
Microsoft Reference: TM851240
Issue Status: RESOLVED
Issue Description: Some users may be unable to create or rename dynamic group channels in the Microsoft Teams desktop and web client.
More info: Specifically, the “Rename channel” and “Add channel” pop-up didn’t appear. Additionally, impact was specific to dynamic groups and the users inside of those groups with appropriate permissions to edit the channels.
Final Update: 13/08/2024 08:29:00 AM – Microsoft have completed deploying the fix and validated with internal testing that the issue is resolved.
Scope of impact: Some users in dynamic groups that were attempting to create or rename existing dynamic group channels in the Microsoft Teams desktop and web client may have been impacted.
Root cause: A recent change to property values with dynamic groups in Microsoft Teams introduced a compatibility issue that was preventing dialog from populating and appearing when users attempted to create channels or rename existing channels in teams created from dynamic groups.
Next steps: Microsoft are further reviewing the service update to understand how the compatibility issue was introduced, and to understand what prevented it from being detected in their update testing and validation procedures, which will allow them to prevent similar issues in future updates.
