Issue Description: Some users may have been unable to access or download Microsoft 365 apps and services.

More info: Impact included the following apps and services, but were not limited to:

– Intune

– Word

– SharePoint Online

– Microsoft Office

– Excel

– Office 365

– PowerPoint

– Sway

– Autopilot

Final Update: 01/07/2024 08:53:00 AM Microsoft identified that a service authentication configuration issue within the Microsoft-managed environment was causing impact to requests that were routed through a specific Content Delivery Network (CDN) provider. They have rerouted requests to alternate CDN infrastructure to mitigate impact whilst they address the issue. They have confirmed that impact no longer occurs after monitoring the environment.

Scope of impact: Impact was specific to some users who’s connections were routed through a specific CDN provider, and attempted to download or access Microsoft 365 applications and services.

Root cause: A service authentication configuration issue within the Microsoft-managed environment was causing impact to requests that were routed through a specific Content Delivery Network (CDN) provider.

Next steps: Microsoft are correcting the authentication configuration issue.

– They are reviewing their service authentication configuration change procedures to better understand why this impact occurred.
