Issue Description: Some users may be unable to open hyperlinks from Microsoft 365 apps within the Microsoft Teams desktop client.

More info: This issue impacts but isn’t limited to the following Microsoft 365 apps:
– Word
– Excel
– OneNote

Users with access to the Microsoft Teams web or mobile apps may use these to bypass the issue. Additionally, users can copy and paste the hyperlink in their desktop browser to open it as expected.

Final Update: 02/07/2024 08:48:00 AM The deployment of Microsoft’s previously mentioned fix is complete, and they”ve monitored their service health telemetry to confirm that the affected hyperlinks have been restored and impact is remediated.

Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure that are attempting to open hyperlinks from Microsoft 365 apps within the Microsoft Teams desktop client.

Root cause: A recent service update to a portion of the Microsoft Teams service infrastructure, which introduced new dependencies to the service, is causing impact to some users attempting to access the files tab in private channels within Microsoft Teams.

Next Steps: Microsoft are reviewing their Microsoft Teams infrastructure configuration change procedures pertaining to interactions with Microsoft 365 apps to prevent similar impact in future updates.
