Issue Description: Some users may be unable to access the files tab in private channels within the Microsoft Teams web and desktop clients.
More info: This impacted both Microsoft Teams web and desktop clients.
Additionally, if a user was added using PowerShell or Teams admin center to a private channel and was unable to access the files tab, then they should have been re-added using the same method.
Final Update: 21/06/2024 13:10:00 PM – Microsoft monitored the environment and confirmed that impact has been resolved.
Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users accessing the files tab in private channels within the Microsoft Teams desktop and web clients.
Root cause: A recent service update to a portion of the Microsoft Teams service infrastructure, which introduced new dependencies to the service, is causing impact to some users attempting to access the files tab in private channels within Microsoft Teams.
Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their update procedures to better identify similar issues during the development and testing cycles.
