Issue Description : Users can’t set groups to audience targeting in classic web parts in SharePoint Online.

Final Update : 23/05/2023 08:55:00 AM – Microsoft have confirmed that their fix deployment is complete and determined through service telemetry that this issue is resolved.

Scope of impact : This issue impacts a subset of users implementing groups with audience targeting in classic web parts in SharePoint Online.

Root cause : A code regression within a recent service update resulted in impact.

Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing their service update validation and update procedures to determine how impact to audience targeting wasn’t identified prior to deployment, which will allow them to improve their update testing and vetted processes.
