Information – Basic Authentication Deprecation for EAS and RPC over HTTP protocols

NHSmail team will be carrying out a scheduled upgrade to the platform to retire the below Basic Authentication protocols on Thursday 27^th April 2023 at 19.00

Exchange Active Sync (EAS)
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)

Once this change is completed, organisations and users with managed or personal mobile and desktop devices using mail/calendar applications connected to Exchange Online and using the above protocols will stop sending and receiving emails. Users can follow the guidance in the below support article to restore their access:

Please note that users will be able to access their mailbox via Microsoft Outlook Web Access, go to the NHSmail Portal (https://portal.nhs.net/) and click on the Email tab on the top menu.
