Microsoft Reference : EX385784 / 31317148
NHSmail Reference : INC29261023
Issue Status : RESOLVED
User Impact: Users’ and shared mailboxes’ automated signature additions may intermittently fail to show up in messages.
More info: If users have the ability to, as a potential workaround, users can leverage the Outlook desktop client.
Final status : 31/05/2022 10:39:00 AM – Microsoft have identified that a recent code change was the cause of this issue. On Monday, May 30, 2022 at 2:00 PM UTC (3:00pm BST), they completed reversion of the Outlook on the web (OWA) service to the previous healthy build version to resolve the issue. Internal testing has completed successfully. For users to receive the healthy build version of Outlook on the web, they will need to refresh their browser cache. This can be manually initiated for immediate recovery, or the natural browser cache should update within 24 hours or after launching a few new sessions of Outlook on the web. Microsoft have entered a period of extended recovery to confirm resolution.
Scope of impact: This issue could potentially affect any user or shared mailbox intermittently if they’re set up to automatically include a signature in new messages.
Root cause : A recent code update caused Outlook on the web to attempt to load signatures from the shared mailbox context, instead of from the accessing user’s account, resulting in no signature being available.
