Issue Description: Some may users see incorrect service names and descriptions in Services and the Event Viewer upon upgrade to Windows 11.

More Info: This issue is only impacting users who have upgraded to Windows 11 during or after June of 2025.

Current Update: 01/09/2026 08:56:00 AM – Microsoft is continuing to deploy their solution to address the incorrect service names and descriptions in Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Services and Event Viewer. They anticipate this deployment to be completed by their next scheduled update.

Scope of impact: This issue impacts a subset of users who have upgraded to Windows 11 in or after June of 2025.

Root cause: A Windows update is producing localisation issues including incorrect service names and descriptions in Services and the Event Viewer for users who have upgraded to Windows 11 in or after June of 2025.
