Issue Description: Users’ filters in Excel PivotTables connected to Microsoft Fabric Semantic Models may reset after a refresh.

More Info: After refreshing a Microsoft Fabric Semantic Model and the associated Excel PivotTable, previously selected filter values may have been cleared and reset to default selections. No data loss was identified; the impact was limited to retained filter selections within affected PivotTables.

Final Update: 27/08/2026 09:54:00 AM Microsoft’s investigation determined that a recently enabled change was resulting in users’ filter selections resetting after Microsoft Fabric Semantic Model refresh operations. They have disabled the aforementioned change and confirmed that impact has been remediated after carefully monitoring the environment.

Scope of impact: Impact was limited to users in the UK South region with Excel PivotTables connected to Microsoft Fabric Semantic Models.

Root cause: A recent service change affected how Excel PivotTables retained filter selections after a Microsoft Fabric Semantic Model refresh.

Next steps: Microsoft is reviewing their change testing and validation procedures to identify opportunities to improve impact detection and better prevent similar future occurrences.
