Issue Description: Users may not see the controls in the file and media webpart for embedded PowerPoint files in SharePoint Online.

Final Update: 28/08/2026 08:49:00 AM – Microsoft has completed the deployment of our fix and confirmed after additional testing with a subset of affected users that impact was successfully remediated.

Scope of impact: Any user may not have seen the controls in the file and media webpart for embedded PowerPoint files in SharePoint Online.

Root cause: An automated code update intended to upgrade supporting software packages removed a required feature gate, leading to the impact.

Next update by: Microsoft is reviewing their automated code update procedures to identify opportunities to prevent similar future occurrences.
