Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: Some users may experience degraded video quality when screen sharing using the Microsoft Teams web client.

More info: Impact was specific to approximately four percent of screen sharing sessions initiated by users from the Microsoft Teams web client. This may also have impacted users attempting to screenshare through VDI.

While we’re working to remediate impact, users can initiate unaffected screen sharing sessions using the desktop or mobile apps.

Final Update: 24/08/2026 02:05:00 PM – Microsoft has confirmed that the fix has completed its deployment and validated that this issue has been remediated using service telemetry.

Scope of impact: Impact was limited to approximately four percent of users initiating screen sharing from the Microsoft Teams web client and VDI.

Root cause: A recent configuration change to the video processing pipeline contains an error, which resulted in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft is continuing their analysis of the impacting configuration change to better identify and prevent similar impact in the future.
