Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: Users may see various issue with sharing of Agent Builders in Copilot Studio.

More info: In the “Share dialog”, the operation appeared to complete successfully, but the share targets weren’t actually saved. Users you added didn’t gain access, and users you removed may have kept it. Since sharing looked successful, impacted users may not have noticed it until later, when added or removed people didn’t persist in the shared-users list.

Specifically, impact happened only if the agent’s knowledge sources included a SharePoint Online site that was added from the grounding menu. Agents without such a source were not affected.

While the initial fix prevented any new agents from entering the impacted state, affected users may have been able to perform the following steps for agents that were already impacted:

1) Open the affected agent and remove the SharePoint site knowledge source (keep all other knowledge/media sources).

2) Re-add the SharePoint site. (if doesn’t work remove and re-add)
Retry Share and confirm the intended users now appear in the shared-users list.

Final Update: 07/09/2026 09:58:00 AM – Microsoft has confirmed that the secondary fix is deployed to clean up agents that were affected throughout the duration of this event has completed development, and after monitoring service health metrics, they have confirmed that the associated failures have ceased and the impact has been remediated by their actions.

Scope of impact: Some users utilising Agent Builders in Copilot Studio may have been impacted.

Root cause: A previous deployment to Agent Builder contained a code issue that resulted in various issues with sharing of Agent Builders in Copilot Studio.

Next steps: Microsoft is reviewing their deployment standards to ensure that similar code issues are identified and corrected ahead of implementation to prevent this from reoccurring.
