Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: Users may have been unable to complete Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat actions that leverage OpenAI models.

Final Update: 20/08/2026 12:35:00 AM – After coordinating with OpenAI on the deployment of an expedited fix, they have confirmed that all Microsoft 365 Copilot actions which leverage OpenAI models can now be completed as expected.

Scope of impact: This issue may have impacted any user who attempted to perform Copilot Chat actions that rely on OpenAI models.

Root cause: An ongoing reliability issue within OpenAI’s managed environment was preventing the Copilot service from leveraging models served by OpenAI, which led to impact.

Next steps: Microsoft is continuing to work closely with our partners to ensure swift resolution in the event of a future service impact.
