Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: Some users may be unable to access apps on newly enrolled devices in Microsoft Intune.

More info: This issue affects new device enrollments using Enrollment Time Grouping (ETG) in Microsoft Intune. Affected devices aren’t being added to the appropriate group after enrollment, preventing assigned apps from being installed.

Final Update: 12/08/2026 09:13:00 AM – Microsoft has addressed the aforementioned deployment problem and confirmed their fix deployment completed. Subsequently they validated that impact has been fully resolved for all affected users.

Scope of impact: Some users enrolling new devices with ETG in Microsoft Intune may be impacted.

Root cause: A code issue is preventing a background process from applying group assignments to newly enrolled devices, which is resulting in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft is continuing to analyse how the code issue manifested, as this analysis will help us to clarify what actions they can take to ensure similar impact doesn’t occur in the future and will allow us to continue our ongoing mission to improve the resilience of their service for all Microsoft Intune users.
