Information – Advisory: Potential Disk Space Issue on Windows Intune Devices

User Impact: Devices using the Intune Store application may experience reduced performance or functionality due to insufficient disk space.
Microsoft have been made aware of a technical issue that may affect NHS.net Connect-managed Windows Intune devices currently deployed with Windows Store or Winget-based applications. A recent Microsoft update to the Intune Store application has introduced a code issue resulting in excessive error logging. This may cause affected devices to run out of disk space.
This issue may potentially affect any user operating a Windows Intune device with Intune Store applications installed.
Temporary Mitigation: While a permanent fix is being worked on by Microsoft to resolve this issue, administrators may temporarily mitigate the issue by deleting the contents of the following folder and restarting the device: %windir%\Temp\WinGet\defaultState
Current Status: Microsoft are continuing to validate the fix internally and expects deployment to begin on Monday, October 13, 2025. They will provide an updated timeline for the deployment once validation is complete.”
