Final Update: 01/05/2026 08:45:00 AM– Microsoft has confirmed that the deployment of the fix has completed, and they validated with internal testing that the impact is remediated. Users will need to refresh or reload the Windows App Web client as well as close any existing sessions to restore functionality.
Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event, and users attempting to copy and paste text from Cloud PCs to local devices are impacted. This section may be updated as the investigation progresses.
Root cause: A recent change introduced a regression which broke the legacy text copy, resulting in clipboard content not being requested from remote sessions and the legacy copy path not being triggered.
Next Steps: Microsoft are further reviewing the service change to understand how the code regression was introduced, and to understand what prevented it from being detected in their update testing and validation procedures, which will allow us to prevent similar issues in future changes.
