Issue Description: Users intermittently may be unable to load the app launcher or navigation elements from some SharePoint Online sites.

More info: Users may not see the gear icon to open the Settings pane on some SharePoint Online sites, and users may not be able to conduct searches on some sites via the search box.

Current Update: 24/04/2025 08:52:00 AM –  Microsoft’s additional analysis into the exception has identified a traffic configuration problem occurring for a subset of SharePoint Online service infrastructure that is intermittently preventing expected elements from loading on some SharePoint Online sites. They have isolated a recent service update that has produced the traffic configuration problem, and they have conducted their change reversion process to remediate the impact. As they further analyze the offending change, they are testing with affected users to confirm that impact has been remediated.

Scope of impact: Any user attempting to load the app launcher or navigation elements from some SharePoint Online sites may be intermittently impacted.

Root cause: A service update has produced a traffic configuration issue for a subset of SharePoint Online service infrastructure, intermittently preventing users from loading the app launcher or navigation elements from some SharePoint Online sites.
