Issue Description: Users’ Microsoft Fabric data warehouse queries to SQL endpoints for tables or paths containing special characters fail.

More info: Users may additionally experience delays in data loading and reporting activities.

While we work towards full remediation, users may rename tables or paths to remove special characters to resume data processing.

Final Update: 06/07/2026 09:25:00 AM – Microsoft has completed deployment of our fix to address a mismatch introduced by a recent code update. They have validated with a subset of affected users that their actions successfully remediated impact.

Scope of impact: Your organization is affected by this event, and users who run queries for tables or paths containing special characters to SQL endpoints are impacted.

Root cause: A recent code change which altered the way that requests are made to backend file path storage caused a mismatch, which resulted in query failures due to read errors.

Next steps : Microsoft is analysing the offending code change to validate why the potential for impact wasn’t caught during their internal testing and validation phases. This further analysis will help us to improve their update implementation process to ensure similar impact scenarios don’t occur in the future.
