Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: Users without a Premium license may not have the option to use eCDN for town hall meetings in Microsoft Teams.

More info: Some organizations who have the Enterprise Content Delivery Network (eCDN) field updated with a third party eCDN in the ‘Live events settings” page may experience this issue during the town hall when non-Premium users schedule a town hall.

Final Update: 08/05/2025 09:15:00 AM – Microsoft’s Validation of the fix is nearing completion and they’re reviewing options to deploy the fix broadly to resolve this issue once the validation is complete. They’ll provide a timeline for the deployment of the fix to the affected environment when available.

Scope of impact: Some users without a Premium license may not have the option to use eCDN for town hall meetings in Microsoft Teams.

Root cause: A standard service update introduced a settings misconfiguration for town hall meetings, which is resulting in impact.

Next Steps: Microsoft are reviewing their service update testing and validation procedures to identify opportunities to improve impact detection and prevent similar future occurrences.
