Issue Description: Users may be unable to move channels into folders, such as favorites, or sections within Microsoft Teams.

Final Update: 21/04/2026 8:59:00 AM– Microsoft has completed their rollout of the secondary fix to address the offending code change and have validated from internal testing that their fix successfully remediates impact.

Scope of impact: Some users attempting to move channels into folders or sections within Microsoft Teams may be impacted. This section may be updated as our investigation progresses.

Root cause: A recent code change introduced a race condition that occurs when users attempt to move channels into folders or sections, resulting in impact.

Next Steps Microsoft are analyzing the offending code change to determine why the potential for impact wasn’t caught during our internal code change review process. This analysis will help us to improve their validation process moving forward to ensure similar impact scenarios don’t occur in the future.
