Issue Status: RESOLVED

Issue Description: Users see that Autopilot device renames aren’t being applied in Microsoft Intune.

More info: This only impact users on the build KB5121003, which are the OS builds 26200.9168 and 26100.9168.

Additionally, admin-defined BitLocker policies may not apply during Autopilot.

Final Update: 10/09/2026 10:28:00 AM – Microsoft has completed their halt of the responsible update, which will prevent impact to further devices. Users with affected Autopilot devices, enrolled in the impacted OS builds 26200.9168 and 26100.9168, can utilize any of the following options to ensure full remediation of this issue: – Manually rename affected devices within the Intune accounts configuration service provider (CSP) settings or through Device Action – Utilizing the OEM recovery process specific to the make and model of the affected device – Affected users that have completed or are unable to complete the above recommendations who are still experiencing impact can uninstall KB5122035 and then reset the PC from settings with the “remove everything” option to resolve the issue.

Scope of impact: Your organisation is affected by this event. Impact is limited to devices running the affected operating system builds where Autopilot device rename actions are not being successfully applied. This information may be updated as our investigation continues.

Root cause: A recent service update contained a misconfiguration, which is resulting in this impact.
