Issue Description: Admins may be unable to assign Microsoft Teams numbers to resource accounts using multiple methods.

Final Update: 10/08/2026 09:29:00 AM – Microsoft confirmed that the rollback has completed and validated this issue has been remediated with affected admins.

Scope of impact: All admins attempting to apply numbers to resource accounts may have been affected.

Root cause: A configuration issue within a recent update contains an error causing the Resource Provider service to return a null value, causing the requests to fail and resulting in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft is continuing our analysis of the impacting change to better identify and prevent similar issues during their update testing and validation phases in the future.
