Information – NHSmail Intune- Windows 11 upgrade despite Intune policy restrictions

NHSmail Intune: Some users may see Windows 11 upgrade prompts on their devices, even though Microsoft Intune settings are configured to block them.

Message: While the issue is being addressed, administrators can temporarily avoid the impact by pausing Windows Feature Updates. Guidance on how to do this can be found here:

Please note: Devices that have already upgraded in error will need to be manually reverted to the intended Windows version.

Current Status: The fix has been developed, tested, and validated. Deployment is now underway to resolve the underlying issue and prevent further occurrences.

User Impact: Devices may incorrectly display the option to upgrade to Windows 11, contrary to configured Intune settings.
This issue affects a subset of users using Windows desktop devices.

Root Cause: A recent service update exposed a pre-existing flaw in the code, which led to the issue.
