NHSmail Reference: INC46475080
Microsoft Reference: TM1029706
Issue Status: RESOLVED
Issue Description: Users may receive a cancellation email when the attendees list is edited for existing town hall meetings.
More info: To bypass the issue, meeting organizers should avoid making edits that only change the co-organizers, presenters, or attendees. Making other edits in addition to edits to these categories may allow meeting organizers to avoid the impact.
The town hall meetings aren’t canceled and users who receive this email can still attend the meeting as expected using the previously provided details.
Final Update: 19/03/2025 09:37:00 AM – Microsoft’s deployment to revert the recent update has completed across all impacted infrastructure. After a period of internal service monitoring, they have confirmed that user impact is resolved.
Scope of impact: Some users who are added as attendees to Microsoft Teams town halls and have previously accepted the invitation may be impacted.
Root Cause: A service change, meant to improve the editing experience for meeting invites by ensuring that only added or removed attendees receive notifications of the change to their email, is causing impact.
Next steps: Microsoft are continuing to analyze and review the affecting service change to better understand why impact wasn’t caught during the testing and validation phase. This is to ensure that similar impact doesn’t occur again and to continue their ongoing efforts to improve the resiliency of their service for all users.
