Issue Description: Users may see an error and can’t attach Microsoft 365 data to email messages using the new Outlook for Windows
More info: Impact includes, but is not limited to attaching the following:
– OneDrive for Business content
– SharePoint Online site links
– Loop components
– Copilot output
Affected users may see the following error –
“Need more information. To satisfy your organization’s security policy, an additional step is required.”
While they are working to remediate this issue, affected users can attach these items using other connection methods, including:
– Outlook on the web
– Classic Outlook
– Outlook desktop clients
– Outlook mobile
Current Update: 20/03/2025 08:46:00 AM – Microsoft are continuing to validate and review the efficacy of their code fix before potential deployment to affected users. Due to the complexity of the aforementioned code fix designed to correct the authentication configuration, additional time is needed to verify the code fix will resolve all reported impact scenarios for affected tenants.
Scope of impact: Some user attempting to attach certain Microsoft 365 content to email messages using new Outlook for Windows may be affected.
Root cause: An authentication misconfiguration on a portion of impacted infrastructure responsible for attaching Microsoft 365 data to email messages using the new Outlook for Windows is causing impact.
