Issue Description: Some users’ location status may be appearing incorrect in Microsoft Teams

More info: Real- time work location updates aren’t working for users. Work location status displays user locations (Office, Remote) within the Microsoft Teams client.

Final Update: 04/03/2025 08:52:00 AM – Microsoft have deployed the fix and confirmed after a period of monitoring that impact is no longer occurring.

Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure.

Root cause: A recent service update, intended to resolve an unrelated issue, caused a section of service infrastructure that facilitates location statuses in Microsoft Teams to fail.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their service update procedures to help prevent similar impact from happening again.
