Issue Description: Some users were unable to see targeted devices while configuring specific Microsoft Defender for Endpoint policies.
More info: Specifically, some users may have been unable to see the targeted devices or device counts for all Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Asset Rule Management policies while attempting to configure them. Rule configuration and application itself was unaffected, however, users were unable to identify the devices or see device counts.
Current Update: 07/03/2025 09:05:00 AM – Microsoft have concluded the deployment of their fix, and confirmed following a monitoring period that impact to end users is remediated.
Scope of impact: Impact was specific to some users who were served through the affected infrastructure.
Root Cause: A recently applied service feature, intended to improve functionality relating to Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Asset Rule Management policies, inadvertently introduced a regression which was causing impact.
Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing upcoming service feature updates for similar regressions to minimize or prevent reoccurrence of impact.
