Simmonds Release – Content Summary
The NHS.net Connect Portal Release is named in honour of Helen Simmonds.
Matron at Lakeside Nursing Home, Cardiff, who was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours (2021) for their services to the elderly during covid-19.
Please find below a summary of the main content of the Simmonds release which was deployed on 21st November 2024.
Portal AD Functionality
- 69407: Addition of the removal of delegate access when accounts are marked as compromised.
As an admin user, when a user account is marked as compromised, all delegates associated to the user’s mailbox will be removed preventing access to the mailbox via Outlook or OWA. Details of the delegates which have been removed are included in the audit record for the Mark as Compromised action. On the remediation of an account no delegate permissions will be added, and the LA will need to re-apply those delegates.
- 72542: New page filters when searching for B2B guest users
Introduction of a filter mechanism to allow users with the B2B_Approver or Invite Guest User role to refine their search for Guest Users. Users will be able to search using the following criteria:

- Display Name
- Email Address
- Status
- 86644: Removal of a user from the MFA Named Locations groups if marked as a joiner
When a user is successfully marked as a Joiner, they are removed from any existing MFA Named Location Security Groups the user was in at their previous organisation. A new audit record will be presented on the user account to highlight if a user was removed from a named locations Security Group.
- 86645: Removal of a user from the MFA Named Locations groups if transferred to a new Organisation
If a user is a member of their organisations MFA Named Locations Group, upon successfully being transferred, they will be removed from the MFA Named Locations Group, A new audit record will be presented on the user account to highlight if a user was removed from a named locations group.
MFA is continuing to be applied to the account through MFA Standard Conditional Access.
