Issue Description: Users may be unable to access SharePoint Online.

More info: Users may be able to set their DNS server configuration settings to 8.8.8.8 to access SharePoint Online.

Final Update: 19/03/2024 09:18:00 AM – After a period of close monitoring, Microsoft have confirmed that this issue has been resolved following their reversion of the service change found to be causing the problem.

Scope of impact: Users attempting to access SharePoint Online may be impacted.

Root cause: A recent service change to upgrade Azure Domain Name System (DNS) compatibility resulted in impact.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their Azure DNS compatibility service change processes so they can better identify similar issues during their testing and development cycles and avoid comparable impact in the future.
