Issue Description: Users may be unable to start some apps within private channels in the Microsoft Teams desktop or web client.

More info: This impact is limited to the Microsoft Teams desktop and web clients. Where possible, affected users can bypass the impact by accessing apps in private channels using the Microsoft Teams mobile app.

Final Update 30/04/2025 08:45:00 AM: – Following Microsoft’s reversion of the recent service update their internal service telemetry has validated that impact has been resolved. Users who continue to experience any problems when starting apps within Microsoft Teams private channels should confirm they have the most recent fixed version of Teams (25040319113).

Scope of impact: This issue affected users leveraging some apps within private channels in Microsoft Teams.

Root cause: A recent update to the Microsoft Teams client code base responsible for facilitating app functionality in private channels introduced an error that prevented some apps from initiating, leading to impact.

Next update by: Microsoft are further analyzing the offending service update to help us improve their pre-deployment testing and validation processes.
