Issue Description: Users may be unable to change public channels to private channels in Microsoft Teams desktop client and web app.

Final Update: 07/10/2024 08:53:00 AM – Microsoft have completed deployment of the fix and confirmed through internal testing that the impact is remediated.

Scope of impact: This issue may impact any user attempting to change the ”Privacy” drop-down menu choice in a team’s details settings in Microsoft Teams desktop client and web app.

Root cause: A recent update which provided a fix for an unrelated issue introduced a regression which resulted in exceptions occurring when attempting to change the ”Privacy” drop-down menu choice in a team’s details settings in Microsoft Teams desktop client and web app.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing the recent update to determine why the fix contained a regression so they can prevent similar impact from occurring in the future.
