Issue Description: Users may be unable to access various Microsoft desktop applications on Windows Server 2016 devices.
More info: While Microsoft are focused on mitigation, they recommend that affected customers force an update to roll back to Version 2411 (Build 18227.20162), which can also be obtained by following these steps:
1) Open Command Prompt as Administrator
2) Run the following command: cd “C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun”
3) Run the following command: OfficeC2RClient.exe /changesetting Channel=Broad
4) Run the following command: OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user
Final Update: 17/01/2024 08:46:00 AM – The final stages of our rollback to Version 2411 has completed and Microsoft have confirmed via internal service monitoring for crashes related to Windows Server 2016 devices that impact is resolved for affected users.
Scope of impact: Impact is specific to some users who are served through the affected infrastructure.
Root cause: A recent Office update that integrates React Native framework to support certain features in Microsoft 365 applications has introduced a problem that’s leading to this impact.
Next Update by: Microsoft have released a new update to restore users to a restored version of the latest build containing the latest security features. Previously affected users can manually update to this version or will be automatically updated by approximately Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
