Issue Description: Users may be unable to search for email or calendar items in Groups in Exchange Online.

More info: This issue may impact any Groups search in the new Outlook desktop client and Outlook on the web; however, it could also impact additional connection methods where this feature is available. Specifically, when a user enters text into the search bar limited to a Group, no results are returned and there is no indication that the search action was processed. This occurs whether a user hits “Enter” or clicks on the search icon after entering text. General Outlook search isn”t affected.

Final Update: 20/06/2025 07:36:00 AM Microsoft’s have completed deployment of the fix and confirmed through service telemetry that impact has been successfully remediated.

Scope of impact: Users searching for email or calendar items in Groups in Outlook may be affected.

Root cause: A recent change intended to optimize data management resulted in an automatic update to the Groups Search feature. This update created a code change that impacted the functionality to search and is responsible for impact.

Next Steps: Microsoft are reviewing the deployment path that introduced the regression and assessing improvements to their validation processes to help prevent similar issues in future updates.
