Issue Description: Users may be unable to receive or send email in Outlook for Mac version 16.89.

More info: This affects the “Set expiration date” feature for Microsoft 365 apps for the web, for desktop on Windows or Mac, and for mobile on Android or iOS.

Final Update: 19/09/2024 08:52:00 AM – Microsoft have confirmed with some users that reported the problem that they’re able to send and receive email as expected for Mac version 16.89, and they have determined that this issue is resolved.

Scope of impact :This issue may affect any user attempting to send or receive email in Outlook for Mac version 16.89 if their organization has conditional access evaluation enabled.

Root cause: A recent change intended to utilize an updated authentication configuration introduced a regression which impacted organizations with conditional access evaluation enabled when using Outlook for Mac version 16.89.

Next steps: Microsoft are reviewing their authentication configuration validation and update procedures to detect and prevent regressions like this prior to deployment in the future.
