Information – System Preferred MFA

We frequently look for enhancements and changes to the security profile of NHSmail and will be introducing a seamless change tonight.

This change will amend the system-preferred multifactor authentication (MFA) prompt when a user signs in. The authentication process will check which MFA methods are registered when the user authenticates and the user will then be prompted to sign-in with the most secure authentication method available. The change will be seamless to all MFA users and is solely a prompt to discourage less secure sign in methods. The change will not currently force the user to use the system preferred method.
