Issue Description : Users were unable to access Document Libraries in SharePoint Online sites.

More info : Specifically, users may have seen the error message “Something went wrong. Please try again or refresh the page”.

As a workaround, users could refresh the page to access the Document Libraries.

Final Update : 06/10/2023 08:46:00 AM – Microsoft’s review into recent service changes has isolated an update, intended to improve functionality for the SharePoint Online Document Library, which produced an impacting code issue and prevented users from accessing Document Libraries in SharePoint Online sites. After confirming with some previously affected users that removing the change resolved the problem, they have reverted the service update to remediate the impact.

Scope of impact : This issue may have impacted any user attempting to access Document Libraries in SharePoint Online sites.

Root cause : A service update, intended to improve functionality for the SharePoint Online Document Library, introduced an impacting code issue.

Next steps : Microsoft are further analyzing the offending service change and the code issue it introduced in their effort to identify similar issues during the validation processes and before they produce impact.
