Issue Description : Anonymous users can’t view or edit Microsoft Whiteboards in Microsoft Teams meetings via all connection methods.
More info : Anonymous users can’t view or edit these whiteboards despite admins allowing anonymous users these permissions in the Microsoft Teams admin center.
Final Update : 14/12/2023 09:05:00 AM – Microsoft have unblocked the affected anonymous users and have confirmed through telemetry that impact has been remediated.
Scope of impact : Anonymous users attempting to access Microsoft Whiteboards in Microsoft Teams meetings held via any connection method may be affected.
Root Cause : Microsoft’s mitigative efforts to address a different problem pertaining to Microsoft Teams admin center configurations regarding anonymous users’ access privileges led to the temporary suspension of anonymous users’ ability to edit or view whiteboards in Microsoft Teams altogether.
Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing the impacting mitigation efforts they implemented to understand why they caused impact to anonymous users, which will help us prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.
