NHSmail Reference : INC37686762

Microsoft Reference : SP667935

Issue Status : RESOLVED

Issue Description : Users can’t change formatting options when applying conditional formatting to columns within lists in SharePoint Online.

More info : Unavailable style formatting options include, but may not be limited to:
– Changing fonts
– Toggling italic text
– Toggling bold text

Impact is limited to changing formatting options using the mouse cursor. Where possible, users can bypass impact by using the keyboard shortcuts associated with the impacted functions.

Final Update : 18/08/2023 08:30:00 AM Microsoft completed the deployment of the fix to the impacted service environments, and they have tested to confirm that the affected formatting options are restored and impact is remediated.

Scope of impact : Any user applying conditional formatting to columns within lists in SharePoint Online may be impacted.

Root cause : A recent change to the user interface responsible for facilitating formatting changes introduced a code issue that’s preventing the mouse cursor from interacting with the affected style formatting buttons, resulting in impact.

Next steps : Microsoft are reviewing their SharePoint Online configuration change procedures pertaining to style formatting to identify these issues during the testing phases prior to implementation, so that they may prevent similar impact in future updates.
