Final Update : 09/08/2023 08:47:00 AM – Following the deployment of Microsoft’s fix to the affected environment, they have internally validated that it has addressed the code regression and remediated the impact.

Scope of impact : Some users attempting to see another user’s profile card by hovering over their display name in a Microsoft Teams video chat may be impacted.

Root cause : A recent service deployment introduced a code regression that prevents the user profile cards from appearing during video calls in Microsoft Teams.

Next steps : Microsoft are further analyzing the code regression to help them identify and catch similar issues during their testing and validation processes and before they can result in impact.
